STEP BACK IN TIME AND GET A GLIMPSE INTO THE MYSTERIOUS WORLD OF THE LIFE IN A HIGHLAND ESTATE.
Dating back to the early 1800’s. Based on the famous book Memoirs of a Highland Lady this tour takes place at the Grants family home The Doune.
The family home of the Grants of Rothiemurchus since 1560, was nearly lost as a ruin and has been under an ambitious repair programme since 1975. Guided by a Ranger you are able to visit several of the restored rooms and explore the haunts of Elizabeth Grant of Rothiemurchus, born 1797 and author of ‘Memoirs of a Highland Lady’
After visiting the house you will visit the mysterious Doune church and graveyard and Loch an Eilein cottage.

Wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes as there are chances to get out and walk around if you wish.
