Reporting to: Head Chef 

Rothiemurchus is a family-owned and managed farming, forestry, property business and the principle destination for visitors to the Cairngorms National Park. The estate rises gradually from the River Spey beside Aviemore through farmland, forest and moorland to the high tops of the Cairngorm mountains.

Our purpose is to build a profitable business based on the principles of sustainability by providing visitors to Rothiemurchus and the Cairngorms National Park with an outstanding experience of which we can all be proud, consistent with the exceptional natural environment and local culture.

The care of Rothiemurchus depends on welcoming visitors to Rothiemurchus and the Cairngorms National Park, enabling them to enjoy the Estate in ways which contribute to the care of the estate. We strive to deliver changing customer expectations and to operate and manage the Rothiemurchus visitor activities to achieve Visit Scotland 4* of the appropriate QA scheme and working towards consistently delivering the appropriate Visit Scotland 5*customer experience.

Your role is a key part in delivering these aims.

Objectives & Goals

• Enthusiastic and willingness to learn.
• To be part of the team responsible for providing outstanding service for the visitors to The Barn café.
• In collaboration with the team as well as our business and public sector partners, achieve an outstanding reputation for Rothiemurchus; strive towards consistency and for continual improvement.
• Working with fresh local produce and working with local suppliers
• Joining a new growing team of enthusiastic foodies in a new refurbished kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• To cook in a business that becomes the go to place (to dine at and work in);
• To cook seasonal menus that are interesting, healthy and easy to produce with local produce and limiting waste.
• To have a well-organized and efficient kitchen delivering for both the café and wider estate events.
• Rota planning alongside the Front of House Manager.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed and cleaning lists are adhered to.
• Ensure Rothiemurchus comply with all relevant Scottish food hygiene regulations.
• Adhere to Rothiemurchus policies and procedures.
• Work well within a team
• Ensuring food and drinks served are of a high quality and the service is consistent.

Part time kitchen porter
