We are thrilled to announce that Phil Green has joined Rothiemurchus as our new Executive Head Chef. Phil brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for creating delicious food and building great teams. He moved all the way from Merseyside with his family to start this new adventure with us.

A Warm Welcome to the Green Family

Phil is not just a fantastic chef but also a family man. He lives on-site at Rothiemurchus with his partner Gemma, 11 year old Gabe, and their (very) new addition, Maggie Rose, who was born just a couple of weeks ago at Raigmore. We want to extend a huge congratulations to Phil and Gemma on the birth of their beautiful daughter. They also have a dog named Ralph and a cat named Simba, who are both absolutely loving life at Rothiemurchus.

Phil’s Passion for Food and People

From an early start in the culinary world, Phil has always been dedicated to quality and people. He loves mentoring and developing his team, bringing out the best in everyone. With his extensive background, including achieving Michelin recognition and opening prestigious hotels, Phil is excited to bring his expertise to The Barn.

Phil joins an already fantastic team here at The Barn. Our team members are the heart and soul of everything we do, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, dedication, and passion.

We believe that with Phil’s leadership and the continued dedication of our amazing team, The Barn will continue to evolve and develop!

Exciting Changes at The Barn

The Barn recently reopened after a five-month closure for a complete kitchen renovation and the addition of 10 new toilets. This summer, we’re also unveiling a new area that will host private events and functions. Phil is particularly excited about this new space, so stay tuned for more updates!

What Stays the Same

Despite all the exciting changes, some things at The Barn will remain the same. You can still enjoy our fabulous coffee, cakes, and wholesome food made using estate produce whenever possible.

Fun Facts about Phil

Phil is a big Liverpool FC fan! He’s enjoying his new life in Rothiemurchus, especially the beautiful walks with Ralph, the dog. We’re sure you’ll love getting to know Phil as much as we have.
