Yoga and Yoga Retreats at Rothiemurchus, Aviemore
We are thrilled to announce that we will be offering yoga classes and day yoga retreats this summer, near Aviemore. Come enjoy the endless benefits of yoga, breathwork and cold water therapy on the serene grounds of Rothiemurchus. Our yoga classes and yoga retreats are open to all and will provide you with time and space away from your unforgiving daily routines. Each class or retreat is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged.
Yoga Classes on Rothiemurchus 9am – 10:30am, £20
Enjoy a 90-minute yoga class in the tipi in front of Inverdruie House with views looking out to The Cairngorms. These are all levels/ability yoga classes that are designed to improve flexibility, strength, balance, joint health and foster ease in the body. We’ll begin with an energising movement and end with long restorative stretches, breathwork and meditation. Leaving you ready for the day ahead.

Mini Yoga Retreat 9am -12 noon, £65
A great way to dip your toes into the immersive yoga experience. You’ll begin with an all-levels yoga class to mobilise, stretch, energise and open the body. Yoga can improve flexibility, strength, balance, joint health and fosters ease in the body. Katie’s mindful approach and accessible style creates a lasting harmony in the body & mind. As a group, you’ll then walk to the Lochan Mor (the Lily Loch), approximately 30 mins each way, for a mini breathwork session to warm the body followed by an optional healing cold water dip. You might just enjoy dipping your toes in the loch, everyone will do what they’re comfortable with. The cold water experience has numerous benefits – as the cold water stresses the system you’ll work with the breath to remain calm, building resiliency within your own nervous system to handle any life’s stresses. You’ll be supported by the group energy for this genuine life-enhancing experience. Cold water therapy also helps you release negative thinking patterns & increase your motivation to create change by shifting our environment & everyday inputs. Then you’ll warm up with some loving homemade coco loch-side before heading back to the tipi for goodbyes.

Full Day Yoga Retreat 9am-3pm, £165

If you’re looking for a little ‘me time’, space away from your daily routines or an opportunity to slow down and experience the benefits of movement, breathwork, cold water therapy and connection, this is for you. Beginners welcome (ages 16+) – no experience of yoga or cold water dipping necessary. You will be completely supported and guided. Additionally, all you need is a few layers of clothing to practice yoga in and walk in, plus, your swimming costume. Mats, bolsters, drying/changing towels will be provided.

All yoga classes and retreats will be hosted by Katie White, a highly experienced Cairngorms based yoga teacher. Katie creates thoughtfully designed themed yoga classes that allow students to connect better with themselves and their natural surroundings. She combines her 20+ years of practising hatha vinyasa with modern mobility & strength training techniques to curate a life-long sustainable practice that helps people age with ease and grace. She firmly believes yoga is a path towards liberation, that through mindful movement, dropping limiting thoughts/beliefs and building a relationship with your breath, one can live a life of freedom. She has over 850 yoga alliance hours training, assisted on 2 teacher trainings, hosts regular residential yoga retreats in the Highlands, taught for 2 Scottish premier football clubs and teaches in corporate settings.
