Rothiemurchus is incredibly accessible by road, rail and air. Situated a mere 30-minute walk from Aviemore or 5 minutes by car, 35-minute drive from Inverness through stunning Highland scenery and just over an hour’s flight from London, you can be at the heart of the Scottish Highlands quicker than you realise.
GET HERE BY RAIL
You will arrive at Aviemore train station, from here you can either take a taxi or walk approximately 30 minutes.
GET HERE BY ROAD
From the North: Leave the A9 and follow signs for Aviemore. Travel through Aviemore town centre, on the B970 and you will reach a roundabout (with an Italian Restaurant on your right-hand side) turn left at this roundabout, cross the bridge and you’ve entered Rothiemurchus.
From the South: Leave the A9 and follow signs for Aviemore on the B970 and you will reach a roundabout (with an Italian Restaurant on your left-hand side) turn right at this roundabout, cross the bridge and you’ve entered Rothiemurchus. You will see the Fishery clearly signposted on the left-hand side, continue along the road and you will see the Rothiemurchus Centre. If you continue past the centre you will see the Rothiemurchus Shoot on the right-hand side of the road.

Inverness Airport is only 45mins from Rothiemurchus. Direct flights from London take just over an hour.
GET HERE BY BUS
If you are looking for a more cost-effective means of transport then often the bus is the answer.
If you are travelling from around the UK then FirstGroup operates some good transport links. Within Northern Scotland Citylink also offers a comprehensive service. If you are staying within the local area of Badenoch & Strathspey Stagecoach are the best choice for local transport by bus.
