Our dedicated team of experienced falconers will guide you through every step, providing valuable insights into the history, techniques, and ethical practices of falconry.

You will be flying hawks/falcons and working with an English Setter called Steve!

Option 1: Day Hunting Trip

Join us for an adrenaline-fueled day in the field, where you will have the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring partnership between hawk and falconer. Experience the Highlands like never before, as our falconers teach you how to work with your bird’s natural instincts to sustainably hunt their quarry with astonishing precision.

Option 2: Catch, Cook & Camp

Take your falconry experience to new heights with our unique Catch, Cook, and Camp experience. Spend the day in the Highlands with our skilled falconers and their remarkable birds. Take part in a practice that dates back over 4,000 years, taking your very own hawk out in the field to catch your dinner, and camp in a bell-tent with a wood-burning stove.

You will then have the opportunity to cook your own game over a crackling, open fire in the middle of the forest. This experience brings you as close to nature as you can get.

No prior experience is necessary to participate in our experiences. You must be physically able to move across uneven ground for long periods of time.

We prioritise the well-being and conservation of these magnificent raptors. Our practices adhere to strict ethical standards, ensuring that both hawks and their quarry are well respected at all times.

Our Instructors

EQUIPMENT PROVIDED

You will be provided with all equipment required to fly/hunt with the birds.

For those who book option 2 – Catch, Cook, and Camp a bell tent will be set up with a wood-burning stove. Participants are asked to bring their own sleeping bag.

PARTICIPANTS

This experience takes place in the autumn and winter months, please dress appropriately – bring waterproofs and warm clothing, and boots suitable for walking in areas with uneven and muddy ground.

Please do not wear any items with fur.

Your experience starts at 10am. Please arrive in the fishing carpark 10 minutes before (instructions will be provided in the confirmation email).

You must be able to use your left arm and be completely free of any hand, wrist, or arm-related injuries.

Please note that the falconer will determine the suitability of birds that a person can fly, and our experiences are always subject to the welfare of the birds

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Meeting Point – Rothiemurchus Fishing.

Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes prior to the activity start time.

Strictly no dogs allowed.

ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

In the event of high winds or extreme weather, we may have to cancel your experience due to the safety of the Birds and Team. You will be notified and receive a full refund in this situation

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to change your booking or cancel your booking we require 14 days notice in order for you to receive a full refund.
