New for 2026, our Scottish Wildcat and Badger Photography Hide at Rothiemurchus offers a rare opportunity to photograph two of the UK’s most elusive mammals in their natural habitat.

Located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands near Aviemore, this purpose-built wildlife photography hide is set within native woodland, overlooking a quiet forest clearing. The hide overlooks natural moss-covered fallen trees and woodland stumps, creating an authentic and atmospheric setting for night photography.

Designed specifically for nocturnal wildlife photography, the hide provides excellent conditions for capturing images of the critically endangered Scottish wildcat and wild badgers after dark, without disturbance.

We currently achieve an impressive 90% success rate for sightings of both badgers and Scottish wildcats visiting the hide.
